Duckies & Daycare

Draya LOVES her duckies and farm animal tub toys. Last night during her bath she & I were taking turns lining them up on the side of the tub and knocking them into the water. It was extremely cute!
Daycare has been going MUCH better. Fewer crying spurts, eating better and interacting well with the other children - Hooray!!! She has even participating in crafts. Today she was colouring/trying to eat the crayons.

On another note: Peanut had a nasty cold and double eye infection last week but she's 95% better now, just the runny nose is left. Daddy is still sick though.

Early Morning Mommy, Science Centre & More

Mommy has been up since 5, or 5:30. I'm pretty sure I saw 1 am and 3 am as well. Draya is teething. It's her bottom left tooth, next to the 2 that are already in. I could see it last night during one of her screaming fits. Poor little tyke. Poor tired mommy.
Well, I might as well make the best of my time up and catch up on posting, here are some belated photos of our visit to the Vancouver Science Centre on April 5...





In other news, Draya is becoming quite the little climber. She's getting very adept at going up and down stairs by herself (we still always supervise though). She has been standing on her fuzzy chairs to reach items on the living room shelves and the other day she was using her walker to try and climb on top of her musical table toy. I see a jungle-gym in her future.

13 month update

Draya has added a few more words to her vocabulary. She now says "duck", "quack, quack" (well it sound more like "mack, mack" but we know what she means) and "bye" (accompanied by a wave).
She has formed an attachment to the knitted sweater that Great Grandma C (my cousins grandma) knit for her and likes to hold and cuddle it. She also enjoys playing with little shampoo bottles and her big tube of body lotion.
Tonight we noticed that her back and front had a non-raised, mottled rash. The capital health nurse says it's most likely a delayed reaction to her immunizations last month. It's doesn't seem to bother her in the least. No fever or anything serious.
At daycare she's still pretty weepy. When she's there she doesn't roam around like at home, she constantly wants to be held. She likes to play in the exersaucer there and sit in the vibrating chair - two accessories she has grown out of at home (and we've given away).
The little monkey weighed in at 19.5 lbs at the clinic yesterday so we won't be turning her car seat around yet.
She has not been sleeping to well recently (possible teething but no new ones have arrived yet) so she's had some uber cranky moments. She had her first "tantrum" yesterday when I took her away from the computer and keyboard bangers.

Beach Baby

On Tuesday, April 4, after we checked out of the hotel, we took Draya down to Kitsilano Beach. It was cool by the water but gorgeous! We didn't let her play in the sand (too many little shells that we didn't want her to chewing on) but we did have fun walking along the beach and at the little park there. We took numerous photos of course...

Little Vancouver Girl

Draya has been having a wonderful vacation! Yesterday she went to Stanley Park and the Aquarium. The day before she took in the Science Center. She has been to China Town and shopping downtown. She has eaten loads of sushi (cooked). Today she is going to go on the Sea Bus. Needless to say there will be MANY photos to post when she gets home!
Her Auntie V & Uncle M LOVE her VERY much! She will miss them and all of M's rubber duckies when we leave. She had great fun taking a bath in their claw foot tub.
She almost got an audition through the agent V works for (if she had been able to walk she would have been a shoe-in). We're going to send some photos to them for future refrence.
